I couldn't wait to take my children to the Pittsburgh Mills Sky Trail, I saw the promotion on US Family Guides. When we were visiting family for Thanksgiving, we made the day a day of exploring.
We started our visit on a difficult note, when we arrived to the trail, there were no customer service agents present. We walked around the mall and finally found out that they were on lunch.
After twenty minutes we were finally able to get our tickets and start our trail adventure. The children were really excited when they were able finally got their harnesses on. This was a little overwhelming for Bean, as he wasn't used to having people help him.
Since Bean and Pumpkin were under 48" tall they had to have a chaperon (me) and use the smaller trail. Their trail was one level and and had different changes in what the trail was made of. The trail also had access port for adults to help as possible. The harness is hooked onto a cable and the cable must stay in front of the child as they are walking the trail. This was harder for Bean as he was so little.
The children loved the trail for about 15 minutes and then they asked if they could do the bigger trail, they felt like it was too babyish for them. My pumpkin told me that she was a trail master and need a big one!
The bigger trail was amazing according to Peanut. He said that enjoyed it and couldn't wait to do it again. He wore the same harness that the younger children wore but he was able to go on the larger trail. There were stairs that led him up and he was able to walk and climb on the different ropes and even use the zipline. The children were given unlimited amount of time to explore and play. Bean and Pumpkin were finished within 15 minutes and Peanut explored and climbed for 45 minutes.
Overall, the experience was a great one. The customer service could be better but I think it is worth the time and money to go and have fun exploring!
